New Young Drivers
Newly qualified drivers are subject to a 2-year probationary period under the Road Traffic (New Drivers) Act 1995, commencing from the date of passing their driving test. If a new driver accumulates 6 or more penalty points within this period, their driving license will be revoked. Subsequently, the driver reverts to holding a provisional license and must successfully retake and pass another driving test before regaining full driving privileges.
